  • Migraine Attack

Despite that many people are afflicted with migraines, oftentimes these same people do not seek medical attention due to misconceptions and social stigma attached to this migraine disease.

Dr. Jason Reinhart, DO, is an established neurologist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and treats all neurological conditions, including those that cause migraine headaches.

Did you know that a migraine is not a headache? Most people don’t make that distinction. A migraine, also referred to as a migraine attack, is an episode with many potential symptoms. Before Dr. Reinhart would give a diagnosis of migraine, there must be other symptoms in addition to a headache. You need to understand that a headache, when there is one, is only one of the symptoms, and that a migraine can occur with no headache at all.

Migraine is a genetic neurological disease caused by genetic predisposition and a brain that is overly sensitive to certain stimuli that are migraine triggers.

Let’ discuss migraine triggers. Stress can be a migraine trigger, but we do ourselves a great disservice if we don’t look for other triggers associated with a stressful situation: not drinking enough fluids and becoming dehydrated, excessive caffeine, disrupted sleep, skipping meals or eating on an irregular schedule, and crying. Dr. Reinhart will speak to you more about migraine triggers during your consultation.

Dr. Reinhart believes and works by this principle: “Optimal health care can be achieved only when patients are educated about their health and then, patients and physicians can work together as treatment partners in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Dr. Reinhart understands how migraines can cause major disruption in the lives of those who suffer with them. By considering patients' health history, the other medical conditions, lifestyle and work habits, he can better aid the patient to find solutions of managing headaches and migraines. When you partner up with Dr. Jason Reinhart, he will develop a treatment plan developed specifically for you.
